Who hasn't read a comic book at least once in their life? I know I still do and actually have boxes and boxes of them!
James Lu Dunbar, a self-proclaimed amateur scientist, has created a wonderful comic book geared towards anyone from "age zero to infinity" that not only illustrates in pictures but in rhyme as well how the universe was formed.
I was listening to a recent Berkeley Groks show podcast where Mr. Dunbar was interviewed and he explained in detail how he created the book. If you haven't heard of the Groks Science Show yet, go check out their podcast available from the itunes store. It is free and covers mostly authors of science, philosophy, and psychology related books.
Like Brian Greene, who created an illustrated book for children explaining the cosmos, Mr. Dunbar has created a terrifically self-illustrated title called, Bang!: The Universe Verse: Book 1

Mr. Dunbar has self-published this work through James and Kenneth Publishing, a venture that he and his father created.
These two works represent an innovative trend in making science more accessible to the masses and is meant to initiate that inquisitive yearning for knowledge and delivers it in a digestible medium.
Mr. Dunbar also has offered to provide a free electronic copy of the book to anyone who emails him. He is encouraging teachers to contact him through his site.
